Copyright Laws in Malawi

Malawi has copyright laws in place to protect the intellectual property of creators. The Copyright Act of 2016 governs copyright protection, providing artists with exclusive rights to their work for a specific duration. (See section A)

Licensing Music

Musicians in Malawi can licence their music for various uses, such as sync licensing (for use in films, TV shows, and commercials) and public performance (for use in concerts, bars, and public spaces). Licensing agreements specify the terms, fees, and conditions for using the music.
